To work with wood is like a mediative positioning towards matter,
that is alive, vegatative and builds organic forms.
That means one needs to adjust ones concepts to the growthforms
of the piece of wood and not work against nature. A knot, a winding,
a stretch gives cause to inspriation to make "something"
out of it and more to make something with it.
Wood speaks its own language of growth, and it even still works
and lives forever, when the hand of the sculptor has completed his
work, because wood cracks, it breakes up and changes forms, solong
as the resin presses from inside to outside.

So, let yourself be seduced by the wonderfull smell, that streams
out of freed pores and follow them. Take a journey into the veins
and meanders and rings of the wood and surf as often and so soft
as possible around the curves of the 3-dimensions of your piece
of wood or call it timber of lumber.
Nestle yourself into the matter, that is so similar to human beeings.
