The material STONE can physically be easier handled than WOOD, because "Stone" breaks faster, when hit with short and targeted blows.

One doesn't need much muscle power, but concentration. For example the famous sculptor ZADKINE was a small and lean man, who worked on huge giant figures only with his hands. Today the stoneflexe with diamontblades helps to saw the stone and makes sculpting in stone into a trifle.

The harder the stone the easier it breaks (like humans). Therefore we work on soft Marmor und chalk-Sandstone, which can also be worked on with rasp and file.

And, not to forget, your work in stone is for enternity !
